App Of The Moment

This little segment will hopefully share some insight into the Apps I use, as well as the AT I use. The App may be a web app like Google Docs or a device specific app, like Google Docs for iPhone. Today's App Of The Moment is BIOY, the Bible in One Year. The premise is to provide commentaries associated with passages from the Bible to facilitate a readers goal of reading the Bible in one year. The developers created an app that allows for the adjustment of font size, separate from the iPhone settings, to make the text of the daily commentaries and Bible passages easier to read visually and included audio of the commentaries and the Bible passages. This, should, in theory make the app and it's contents accessible to all! I have found some VoiceOver Accessibility glitches that cause the app not to load as quickly as it does if VoiceOver is turned off. I also found that I am unable to adjust some settings, such as the start date, so that I can review commentaries that I have missed. Regardless of the VoiceOver Accessibility challenges I have enjoyed the audio commentaries and the way that the creators do not present the Bible in chronological order. If you rely completely on VoiceOver this may not be the app for you, but the content is quite good.

It's Been A Bit

I am always making these posts, "I'm back" then I disappear again, so no promises! But, I do hope to keep up here! Hope being the operative word! Since nursing makes smart babies because they suck mom's brains out don't count on much for a while though :)!
